Clear Touch

My school has received COVID funds, and part of those founds has been spent purchasing each teacher a Clear Touch interactive screen.

Our tech coordinator sent a survey asking if we’d like such technology in our classrooms. I did some research and to be honest, I didn’t think I’d use such technology in my high school ELA classroom. If I taught math or science–maybe, but not ELA. So I told my tech guy that I did not want one. I already have a laptop, iPad, and Apple TV. The students all have laptops. Well, lo and behold, we each got one anyway. It’s huge!! 75″ and takes up most of my whiteboard. Sigh…

I did play around with the palette feature and I think that’s cool. But I just don’t know what I’m going to use it for.

I don’t have FOMO. To me, technology should be used judiciously. I don’t believe in a technotopia.

We have some training today, so I’m hoping I will learn about some innovative ways to THOUGHTFULLY use this technology in my various classes.

I’d love to hear from you if you’ve got experience in using the Clear Touch screen in your HS ELA classes!
